At Pauwels Consulting, we are continually looking for motivated consultants who are in a position to bring our clients’ projects to a successful conclusion. As a result, we interview lots of candidates and regularly take on interesting new colleagues.
In our series ‘People of Pauwels Consulting’, new colleagues introduce themselves and talk about their first few months of working at Pauwels Consulting and our clients.
Today, we are going to get acquainted with Pieter-Jan De Groote. Pieter-Jan has been working as a Junior Complaint Handler at Pauwels Consulting for the past 9 months.
Pieter-Jan:Certainly. My name is Pieter-Jan De Groote, I’m twenty-four years old and from Sint-Lievens-Houtem. At the moment, I’m living in Antwerp.
In my spare time, I’m president of ‘Leo Club Herzele’, a service club for young people. I’m also responsible for organising the protocol in events at national level.
Pieter-Jan: I studied pharmaceutical sciences at Ghent University, before doing a degree in business economics. During my business economics course, I did an internship at Capsugel, an international manufacturer of capsules.
Pieter-Jan: I came into contact with Pauwels Consulting via a vacancy on a jobsite. I subsequently submitted an open application.
Pieter-Jan: My first impression of Pauwels Consulting was very positive, with smooth communication and a pleasant atmosphere. I quickly became aware that Pauwels Consulting was the perfect employer.
Pieter-Jan: Right now, I’m working at Amgen, an international biotech company in Breda, the Netherlands.
I had the privilege of being the first consultant from Pauwels Consulting to start at Amgen. At the moment, I am working there with one other consultant.
I’m part of the complaints team in the Quality Assurance (QA) Department. Our job is to investigate complaints about both commercial and clinical products on a daily basis.
Pieter-Jan: The first few months of working in the Netherlands were very intense, since I was completely immersed in a full-on GxP environment, something very special.
Another interesting aspect is Amgen’s international character. So I work with colleagues from different countries and cultures, which really adds depth.
Pieter-Jan: In addition to the full-on GxP experience, getting to know Dutch business culture was also very instructive. I enjoy an open working atmosphere and direct communication.
Pieter-Jan: The following quote from Ralph Waldo Emerson inspires me:
Without work one finishes nothing.
The prize will not be sent to you. You have to win it.
The man who knows how will always have a job.
The man who also knows why will always be his boss.”
