At Pauwels Consulting, we are continually looking for motivated consultants who are in a position to bring our clients’ projects to a successful conclusion. As a result, we interview lots of candidates and regularly take on interesting new colleagues.
In our series ‘People of Pauwels Consulting’, new colleagues introduce themselves and talk about their first few months of working at Pauwels Consulting and our clients.
Today, we are going to get acquainted with David Harnie. David has been working as a Project Manager at Pauwels Consulting for the past 5 months.
David: I’m David Harnie, a forty-something with roots in Limburg. At the moment, I live in Antwerp.
In my spare time, I enjoy playing hockey and going snowboarding. I also spend time keeping my classic car on the road. My interests also include nearly zero-energy housing (NZE), low-energy housing (LEH) and passive housing.
David: After graduating in computer science, I started at the bottom of the ladder, gradually working my way up to become project leader.
My background is therefore both technical and practical, which helps me understand our clients’ needs better. It also means I can communicate well with technical personnel.
David: The company I was working for carried out corporate restructuring. So I found myself looking for a new challenge. While searching online, I came across an interesting vacancy at Pauwels Consulting.
David: Pauwels Consulting made a very professional impression straight away. I was immediately impressed by the clear communication and quick replies. The interesting projects also appealed to me, and this is what matters at the end of the day.
David: I’m currently working for Johnson & Johnson as Business Unit IT Project Leader for Europe, Middle East and Africa (EMEA). I provide customer support (Medical EMEA) in the implementation of IT-related projects.
David: It felt a bit like coming home. I was already familiar with Johnson & Johnson from previous projects and it was pleasant to reunite with old colleagues.
However, the internal projects I’m working on have changed. It means new challenges for me, but I still have the opportunity to maintain my old contacts.
David: There is always room for improvement and you have to start by looking at yourself. Processes cannot streamline themselves. So if you can make a contribution, even if it’s not your core task, then clients can only benefit from your efforts. This also brings much more personal job satisfaction.
David: I’m a big fan of the ‘wisdom’ contained in the following quotes:
